Professional and Other Activities:
Centered initially in Edmonton and in Calgary since 1987, Mr. Yasui has practiced almost exclusively as a civil litigator since his admission to the Alberta Bar. He has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta. He has also appeared before the B.C. Supreme Court and Supreme Court of Canada [Leave Applications]. He has also undergone extensive mediation training and has acted as a mediator in a number of disputes. Most recently, he has become a Registered Trade-mark Agent in Canada.
He has served in the past as a director of the Kidney Foundation (Southern Alberta Branch) and the Carnmoney Golf & Country Club. He has also served as the firm's Managing Partner for the Calgary office. He has been a speaker at numerous seminars presenting papers on a wide variety of topics to the insurance industry, municipalities, the CBA, Lexpert and The Canadian Institute.
