Insurance Defence Litigation, including motor vehicle accident claims, fatality claims, professional negligence, fire losses and construction losses; Insurance Policy Interpretation and Coverage Issues, including excess insurance and re-insurance scenarios; Transportation Losses, including owner-operator cases, road design, construction and maintenance cases, freight hauling and delivery cases, freight liability issues, cargo-in-transit cases, serious accident and injury claims and catastrophic loss claims; Employment Litigation; and General Civil and Corporate Litigation, including products liability, occupiers' liability, slander/defamation and general contract disputes.
Professional and Other Activities:
Has appeared as counsel before all levels of Courts in Alberta, including the Provincial Court, the Court of Queen's Bench, and the Court of Appeal. Has also appeared as counsel before various administrative tribunals.
Has significant experience with various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediations, mini-trials, judicial dispute resolutions and arbitrations.
Member of the Edmonton, Alberta and Canadian Bar Associations, with specific involvement in the insurance law and civil litigation sub-sections.
Member of the Canadian Transportation Lawyers Association and the Transportation Lawyers Association.
Member of the Canadian Defence Lawyers and Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association.
